How to position yourself as the perfect hire for any IT job

Did a video earlier this week on resumes…

And, got this from Sobeida on YouTube:

“It is sad to know that this is how it goes out there!!! They don’t value honesty, being authentic, loyalty… Just whatever you present on the surface, that is what it counts…”

Now look…

It’s true.

It’d be nice if employers dug deep in interviews to get a good picture of somebody’s character. And, even after we’re hired… if they were able to perfectly tell the good employees from the dirtbags.

But, it’s just ain’t gonna happen.

Not with any consistency.

Most businesses are flying by the seat of their pants.

They have 10 or 100 or 1000 other employees to worry about… not to mention customers, vendors, shareholders, govt. entities… the list goes on and on. And, they’re just trying to keep the doors open.

Even the big ones…

I’ve worked for some…

And, it’s just how it is.

Sooooooo…

That means they have to simplify and, at times, take shortcuts. And, that’s what this is all about. I actually get this a lot. When I tell people how to build their resumes and how to interview… I get, “that’s not authentic”.

Actually, somebody else said that on this video, too.

But, this isn’t lying or faking anything.

It’s about understanding how the game works. Knowing what particular employers are really looking for AND the shortcuts they take to figure out if you’re a fit or not… and using those shortcuts to your own advantage.

Putting YOU in the driver seat.

Now, you shouldn’t flat-out lie.

You should only apply for companies you really like…

And, jobs you really want.

Like I said before.. you can use this how you want.

For good or bad.

But, this stuff works regardless.

Anyway, one of the things I do is actually show you a good resume and a bad resume… so you can see a real-world example of what works and what doesn’t. And, I think once you see it, it’ll be obvious WHY this works so well.

And, frankly, how bad most people’s resumes are.

And, one of the big secrets is…

Relevance.

That’s what you’ll see is so obvious between a good resume and a bad one. When you see it, it’ll almost slap you in the face like, “duh”. And, you’ll immediately understand why you probably weren’t getting interviews before.

And, there’s a bunch of ways to use it to your advantage.

Anyway, it’s all in my latest “Get Paid to Code” training on Patreon.
