What Kept Me From Making My First Post…and How I Did Anyway.

Been a fan of nearly all the content on Medium for a couple of years, always scrolling through the next article, list, or series that shows up based on the topics I liked. Things like productivity, life, design, psychology, business…you name it.

Quick intro about me — name’s Julius, 23, growing in design and marketing.

I’ve always wanted to post something however. This being my first official post and all. But I never felt ready, and I didn’t know why. Wasn’t until recently that, I discovered the simple truth.

I never felt good enough.

Everyone has felt what I felt at one point.

To post anything…became my biggest fear I had in myself because of the fear I felt from what other people might think of my words or my thoughts.

But sometimes life gives you a kick in the butt, a slap in the face, and a reality check when all else seems lost. I could probably give credit to the thousands of content I read from different authors, telling me what to do and what not to do. I could probably give credit to the relationships in my life for those who’ve supported me to take action, or inaction. I could probably give credit to the fact that I’m 23, without a stable full time job, and the backlash that came with that realization.

Now that I think about it, it’s probably all of the above. Sometimes it all comes at once. And the overwhelming power in the universe just tells you one to do one thing.

Go

Go be bold and share to the world.

Go do something you’ve never thought of doing before.

Go be a fool, an outcast, a game-changer.

To quote the famous Eleanor Roosevelt.

Do what you feel in your heart to be right- for you’ll be criticized anyway. You’ll be damned if you do, and damned if you don’t.

I felt this strength come from out of nowhere. But I had it, and I didn’t want to let it go. Now this is my opportunity for myself to explore and write about this new path in life I’ve been moving towards.

I invite anyone who reads this to follow me and explore my journey behind design, marketing and psychology. I want to understand everything about these ideas, and shape the world.

Big Time.
