Wednesday: Democracy?

How Americans Have been Duped

We are all having to live in an unsustainable system of industrial capitalism. We’ve been told that democracy, as it is here in the US, is a shining light of righteous goodness. We’ve been told to aspire to become as the corporate masters(CEO’s) or self made entrepreneurs such as Bill Gates or Steve Jobs who’s now deceased. These aspirations are as fake as Trump’s fake news. These ideals are murdering Earth and her children. We are told that capitalism with democracy’s veneer is the only viable economic organization. well a dying Earth and her children say otherwise. We cannot keep living way beyond our means without destroying our only home. And the time we have is about used up to change the corporatist’s views and ways which are integral to the capitalist system. This system isn’t democratic. Not in the least. It’s plutocratic at best, if even that. It needs to be changed.

The System

This system, the one we live in and under, is flawed. The few exploit the many and plunder Earth for vacuous material excesses. For every millionaire there’s a few thousand poor or more that have trouble having a roof to sleep under or even food to eat, Yet this is supposedly the richest nation in the world. For every billionaire there’s millions that are starving around the world. They encourage population growth because the capitalist system is based on ever expanding growth on a finite planet. It’s time those fools realize this hard absolute fact. What will it take to end this tyranny of greedy fools with no regard to any life?

This system is controlled by ruthless capitalists where production is god. Food needs to be produced in corporate owned and controlled factory farms with GMO seeds and thousand of tons of chemicals just so depleted lands can grow crops. They’ve swept the family farms into the memory holes of history. Where’s the democracy in that? Why weren’t the farmers voices listened to when forced to sell their land that was originally stolen from the Native Americas in genocidal massacres that would rival 20th century atrocities? Interesting how the history of these activities are glossed over in school classes. This is as undemocratic as it gets.

A Vision

I wish I knew or had an answer. I do wish for a huge consciousness raising event, a global epiphany, where all peoples awake from this destructive dream of a civilization that’s eating itself to death. We, as a people, humankind, can’t keep doing what civilization has been doing for 12,000 years or so. I know most folks are working hard to survive in this destructive world. One’s family is the most important thing in one’s life. We just need families to see that their children will have no future on a toxic, hotter planet. Food and fresh water will be paramount for survival in the coming decades or maybe centuries. We need to preserve the family in a democratic way for all. We need to come together to end this civilazational system. Life has to matter more than production.

Certainly we can start thinking ecological. We can do what we can to help matters though in reality it won;t be enough to save Earth. Saving Earth and the children not already destroyed in this 6th Mass Extinction Event we’re immersed in should be our ‘prime directive’. It’s hard to even see something this big as real. Stop and look at the mega fauna that’s already been killed off or that soon will be such as tigers, rhinoceroses, panda & polar bears and all their friends doomed to eventual extinction. I suggest watching Netflix’s “Chasing Coral” or “A Plastic Ocean” for eyeopeners. Or for a look farther north ,“Chasing Ice” is worthy of watching. I saw it on Netflix ; it’s no longer there. Try Amazon or YouTube.

Lastly

See what’s happening without the corporate media’s distortions of reality. See how corporate industry places production above life including human life. A new Cadillac or BMW isn’t the answer. Instead of watching Marvel’s heroes destroy the ‘bad guys’ see the corporate masters as the real bad guys, the one’s murdering Earth and all her children which includes peoples everywhere. Production can’t be god anymore; life, all life, has to be more important than production. Democracy needs to have real people as the arbiter of ecological decisions, not the greedy capitalists that deal in whole-scale death and destruction to make a profit. People and nonhuman species have to come first or Earth won’t be worth living on. We need democracy, real democracy, not the pseudo, plastic democracy we’re under the delusion of its false, ever present reality. We need life, not death. We need our current Earth to survive the ravages of greed. We need all of you the scream bloody murder because that’s exactly what we have. I wish love for all life. Peace, The Ol’ Hippy
