Really enjoyed this! I’m not sure how much it’s used any more, but HTML::Mason (via mod_perl for Apache) was the best web app framework I ever worked with: really clean, really fast, and really well-designed conceptually. By making it easy to separate the design from the content, HTML::Mason allowed me to simultaneously support IE (back in the bad old days of people using 4, 5, and 6 if memory serves), Mozilla/Safari, and even Lynx (text-only for text-to-speech users) all at the same time. Although text-to-speech software has gotten a lot better, it’s worth using Lynx once in a while to browse a modern web site just to see how things go.
