Mitchell is a beast, and while I know it’s summer league and all, he already reminds me (hyperbole alert) of a young Westbrook in the making. Having the skills is one thing, but watch that clip closely where Mitchell spins Tatum to the floor: there’s that split second where Tatum gets flat-footed — meaning Mitchell can do anything he wants to him if he pounces, which he immediately does. That’s an NBA-level of awareness that I don’t think you can teach, but Mitchell’s already got it.

I had a strong feeling after the draft that the top 3 rookies at next season’s end will not be any of the players picked in the top 3. Seeing these clips of Mitchell only reinforces that feeling. If I was a Jazz fan, I’d be pretty stoked.
