My knowledge of fascism is a rather more extensive than a single article by Umberto Eco, who wasn’t even an historian (and would find your proposition laughable).

Quoting lots of people on fascism doesn’t make your case. If they know what they’re talking about, they know democracy is antithetical to fascism, one of the very things fascism arises to destroy.
