Development

Elizabeth Milestone Update

Elizabeth was released on the 20th of August. This update lays the groundwork to remove the Gridcoin team requirement. It also introduces a team whitelist to help test these changes.

The team whitelist is a list of BOINC teams whose participants can earn GRC for their crunching. Using this whitelist before completely removing the requirement allows the developers to test the scaling properties of the mechanisms that enable the complete removal of the team requirement, such as the Gridcoin oracles.

There are already a couple BOINC teams whitelisted on mainnet, these teams were initially chosen to be whitelisted because they have been helping test the functionality of the team requirement removal with the developers on the testnet. The whitelist is now open to any team willing to take part. If you are on a BOINC team that might be interested in being part of this initial roll-out of the team requirement removal, please reach out in the comments below, on discord or slack, or by emailing either/both:

Gridcoin Wallet to be Removed from Bittrex on October 4th

Bittrex GRC markets were taken offline in July.

The wallet will be removed on October 4th.

Don’t forget to take your coins off the exchange by then.

Gridcoin is now listed on txbit.io!

The Txbit is a Dutch exchange that listed us after we successfully won the community vote with 358 votes.

We can now trade GRC on their platform against ETH, BTC or XLR.

Gridcoin.World Update

The gridcoin.world poll has passed and was validated.

Per the proposal, the community now needs to raise 350,000 GRC fund development of the site. If the amount required is not raised, the website will not be funded and development will stop.

Gridcoin Taking Part in the Thor Challenge

This is the fourth year of the WCG Thor Challenge hosted by Crunchers Sans Frontier. It is also the first year that Gridcoin is participating in the challenge. We are entering the 2nd leg of the competition.

To participate all you need to do is crunch any WCG project for these weeks.

The stats update is divided into 2 sections: Blockchain Statistics and BOINC Statistics.

Every month we bring you the most up to date statistics regarding the operation of the Gridcoin blockchain and Gridcoin BOINC projects. The information is gathered from Sunday to Saturday on a fortnightly basis and compiled from the getblockstats RPC command in the Gridcoin wallet, BOINCStats, GRCPool, Gridcoin Stats, and from individual project websites.
