Scherzer pitched 80 more innings last seaosn than Kershaw. (Kershaw pitched 4 more than Scherzer in 2015.) So basically the enitre argument is structured around Kershaw being hurt part of last year. It’s inarguable that Kershaw was better per-inning than Scherzer last season: the difference in value stems from the difference in innings. Which is completely fair, and why Scherzer deserved the Cy last season. So it’s probably most accurate to say that Scherzer has been the most valuable pitcher over the last couple seasons, but Kershaw has still been the best.
