Yeah, I actually struggled a lot with how to refer to this concept. I initially wanted to position it as “fun factor,” but “fun” didn’t quite capture the meaning I was thinking about. At least in my mind, “fun” is too over the top, and “cute” is too limiting. I basically wanted to talk about those little design details that make make people feel happy by surprising them. “Delight” seemed like the closest word for that.

But I agree this concept can easily be mistaken for how experts have talked about delight in the past. I just wish there was a better word to describe these d̶e̶l̶i̶g̶h̶t̶f̶u̶l̶ little details in design.
