Swimming in Your Clothes

Why is it when someone mentions going swimming with your clothes on the pool Nazis appear to warn you about clogging pool filters and having too much drag? Have these people never heard of being in the moment? Do they only go in the water at their local health club in order to swim laps? Haven’t they ever gone to a lake or a creek with their kids just to splash around on a hot day? I am pretty sure that for most of us, at least 90%, “swimming” means getting in the water to cool off when the temperature is soaring. I understand why they wouldn’t want someone hot and sweaty jumping into a nice swimming pool in dirty clothes, but who cares what you wear at a lake when all you’re going to do is float around and flip off an air mattress or inner tube? Anyone who hasn’t put up with a wet ride home or back to a hotel on vacation because the water was just too inviting to pass up isn’t going to rate highly on my list of friends.
