A Haiku Per Day for International Haiku Day

April 17 is apparently International Haiku Poetry Day. Quite coincidentally, April 1 was the day I chose to start writing a haiku per day. Here are some of my favorites from the past 16 days.

Came home to good news

No pretending on this day

Friends to become one

Stormy skies above

Come now to the warmth of home

Shelter provided

Walking in nature,

paired with family anew.

Home brings quiet, peace

That which swims along

seen in abundance today

Beavers, ducks, oh my

Ideas that do flow

find a home in a small book

to be remembered

An evening with friends,

ends with an honor for her

So much joy to come
