I respectfully disagree with your assessment of racism. Putting on a mask does not make you a racist nor does creating it in the first place. It’s what you do when you have that mask on that can be judged as racist or not. I have white pillow cases at home. One time I even put one on my head. Did I cut holes in it and run around killing blacks? No, I was pretending I was a ghost.

See what you did there? You PRE-judged someone who dares to create or use a product as racist. PRE-judge… hmmm sounds almost like prejudice doesn’t it?? Read back through your article and look for YOUR seemingly ‘racist speech’. My whiteness will wait here while you do so.

Don’t worry though, I am not offended, but I’m sure I could find some people who would be. This points out the inequality between us. See, I don’t think you’re a racist, I think you’re ignorant. It’s so easy to point out the flaws of others while ignoring ones own character defects. Look at the big picture and not just yourself. Racism isn’t just a black or Asian or Latino issue, it’s everyone’s problem and everyone needs to help fix it. Stop alienating yourself and work together as one to stop injustice.

I for one am tired of being a called a racist. It’s not my fault I was born white; I didn’t choose my skin color, it chose me. Did you ever think that painting the whole white race as racist might cause some hurt feelings? How do you feel when you hear some white guy saying ‘all blacks are lazy’ or ‘all Asians are bad drivers’ ? Hurt feelings turn to resentment which leads to hate; if you can’t see that, then you’re blind to your own problem. Equality means everyone is treated with respect, has equal access to the benefits, and isn’t treated differently because of their origins… This includes white people! Bringing everyone up to the same level doesn’t mean we have to lower whites.

This kind of ridiculous nonsense is why racism continues in this country. Fighting a war on racism isn’t just about getting cops to stop killing black people, it’s about education. It’s about everyone being treated equally and not judged for the actions of a few.

I find it hilarious that I can put on a mask of Bob Marley and so should everyone. What’s wrong with laughing WITH, not at, each other? People with your mentality, in every race, are the problem. Pointing out racism where it doesn’t exist only serves to degrade the equality movement because if we humans spend our time worrying about insignificant crap, we lose sight of the big picture. We need to be identifying, locating, and stopping REAL racism and stop wasting our time with this type of garbage.

Every day I try to do my part to correct injustice when I see it. Not just for white people, but for all mankind and so should you.
