Global Climate Strike — New York, NY

On Friday September 20th, millions of people around the world walked in protest of global inaction regarding climate change. In New York, the walkouts and protests were buoyed by an appearance by one of the leaders of the global climate movement, 16-year old Greta Thunberg. Thunberg was in town to speak at the annual United Nations summit. I spent the day marching with the youth around Lower Manhattan, which eventually culminated in a large rally with performances by Jaden and Willow Smith, along with a speech by Thunberg.
