“ Since the heavily-armed American people would grow upset if they were told that the oligarchs who rule their country are spending an unfathomable amount of the nation’s money and resources trying to depose Bashar al-Assad because Syria occupies a crucial strategic location in US world dominance (risking a direct confrontation with the nuclear-armed Russia in the process)…”

Word of advice (which I know you won’t take, and will probably call me a tool for offering): stay away from these generalizations about the American people. You’re so good on analysis of specific issues (i.e. showing the trail of Russia B.S.), but you don’t know the first thing about the American people. You rail about the mainstream American media, but it seems to be your sole source for the cliches you spout about the masses. The American people would love nothing more than for us to be OUT of Syria and the Middle East. You rely on too many accepted wisdom cliches about gun-totin’, Bible-quitin’ morons. Stick to what you do so very well: laying out specific evidence in articles and e-mails. OK, flame away. (‘cuz I still love your writing.)
