The Prestige is the only one of Nolan’s movies (until the flawed but grand Interstellar) that stuck with me after it ended. I still find the ending uniquely chilling. Makes a good A-B with the trite, dull The Illusionist, which does everything the way a safe producer/studio prefers; the ‘big trick’ in Illusionist is visible from a mile away, while the truth about The Prestige lifts the movie to another, stranger level.
