Dear President Trump,
I would like to start off by saying thank you for everything you have done for this great nation! Never stop fighting for what you believe in. My name is Jordan Taff and I am a 10th grader from Wilson High school in Portland, Oregon. I have adequate grades and believe I am fairly aware of the political climate in the U.S as well as your actions. Don’t take this letter the wrong way by throwing it in the trash just based off the location of where its from. This actually is a letter saluting the decision you made for urging a national emergency at our southern border. I am actually sorry to hear it was rejected in the senate but we will get them next time! I think that what you called for was very vital to this nation and the lives of other nations. It means a lot to have someone in office who can put politics aside look at the basic human rights that everyone deserves such as life and the pursuit of happiness no matter what race, creed, origin, or religion. This is a basic right to seal the border because it can prevent the innocent children from being smuggled over the border every year. It’s a human right to not have to rely on opioids and have an addiction
Personally as an individual I feel ashamed for having a closed mind about your immigration policies over the past couple years. I’m glad my teacher urged us to actually look things up for ourselves instead of drooling over a TV. To get started I think that this wall Is relatively inexpensive. According to Denver Posts Robert J. Samuelson, the united states has a 4 trillion federal budget not to mention illegals cost taxpayers 116$ billion a year.
Now, I like to talk a lot about examples and how they might work because I think it’s important to have testers such as the ones i’m about to name in the paragraph and some of the statistical data. According to Chuck Morse of “News max” we could witness a 70% reduction in illegal aliens. A reduction in illegal immigrants is a wonderful thing for everyone because everyone can live in peace in home. I think you are well aware of this data but it is important to note that you should never stop fighting for the american people. It’s simple beavers establish there turf with dams, birds with nests, and ants with underground colonies. We wouldn’t be the only country to establish a wall. Israel has a wall to prevent terrorist attacks (95% reduction), China (No more mongols) and even our former POTUS Obama has been a supporter of border security.
Next, a very inspiring American writer by the name of Charlie Kirk who is apart of “Turning Point USA,” (Turning Point USA is a non profit activist organisation to stand up to propaganda inside of schools) believes in three things about the wall and the National emergency. He supports facts, sovereignty, and fairness. A very true fact to be aware of is that an illegal alien is more likely to commit a crime versus a natural born citizen (not including the crime they committed by entering illegally). Although many illegals are represented unfairly in some cases that is true I would like to recognize the other side. 90% of all heroin and fentanyl come across the southern border (SB). Over 10,000 kids are sex trafficked across the SB. 56,000 illegal aliens are in federal prison .
Now jumping over to the fairness aspect, Charlie brings up a good point when he says it’s not fair to the people in Bolivia, Bangladesh, Belarus that have to wait in line, fill out a form, not commit a crime, and wait a decade to maybe have a shot to get into the U.S. Next moving onto the idea of sovereignty. Charlie says “Borders are a physical representation of when good ideas begin and when bad ideas start.” I think everyone should have a shot at a good opportunity although I think people should make steps to apply but by doing this I think it should be the correct and proper way by doing so.
Also the united states has a unique culture and a unique identity. The U.S is nothing like Mexico. Please don’t take this the wrong way and think I’m some sort of alt right nationalist but I think it’s important to reflect on how prosperous the United states is. Like i said It’s important for each country to have a special and unique identity. The U.S should value diversity but in the end it should come to merit.
I would just like to wrap everything up by saying thank you once again and for taking the time out of your day to read this letter that could be of any use to you. I am glad that you are recognizing this human atrocity at the SB and I am glad to know that you are going to work for us!
