I love investors, especially those who take an interest in my projects. However, I think this is like asking a girl to tell you why she didn’t call you back for a second date. Listen to feedback, but the people who are not interested in taking part are not really the folks you need feedback from. Many of these suggestions or reasons are not useful to an entrepreneur who know’s what they are doing and why. The entrepreneur knows the business. I recall a junior team member at DFJ just one year before Facebook and after myspace who said after my pitch that “Social Networking just isn’t a big enough market, we’re really looking for a business plan like google” — which was both wrong, and ironically wrong to boot. In fact, if you have something really special, it is likely not well understood by people looking to make money of the next “sure thing”. Just keep on moving and talking to more people. Let the ones who drop off go their own way and you’ll find your mate. Good luck!
