Chris Khoo, below, half-mentioned a question I have. What is the benefit, really, of moving people from contractor to employee? It seems to me that the expenses exterior to wage/salary itself (worker’s comp, insurance, etc) would consistently cause a decrease in real wages for the contractor.
I know the USA is a little odd because almost all of our employment contracts are at-will these days — do you find that foreign workers desire a more formal employee relationship even at the expense of greater pay?
