Hey Jason, I live In Chicago too and this happened a lot to me as well. But I think this is a creative and practical idea for a non practical world.

Here are a couple problems with this idea and instead of being a Debbie downer, I’ll provide my own solution.

1. People will feel silly about waving their phone in the air. Most just won’t do it.
2. Many times my uber driver is not looking in my direction so they can’t see me anyways.

What if uber incorporated AR to make it easier to locate your Uber? Here’s the picture:

• Uber driver arrives
• User gets option to enable AR
• User holds phone in front of them and an AR generated pin or path is created directing you to your uber, with additional info about make, model, color, plate number, etc.
