I consider myself an implementer first. From personal experience, I can say that I have seen many instances where UX designers mandate appearance and features in the software that I write that fly in the face of established convention and actual implementability. What use is an architect that does not and refuses to understand the materials at his disposal? His designs will be worthless at worst and baseless dreams at best.
