Thank you so much for sharing your story and your thoughts. I’m sorry that happened to you, and I’m more sorry that people treated your being raped with such disdain. It sucks that it’s so common. My story is not similar because the person who raped me was not my boyfriend, but an acquaintance; but it is similar in the sense that people around me minimized the impact and made it my fault with their words.

It took me some time to work through that, but I’ve come a long way on that.
