Any big religion or nation was or is based in conquest. You are right, islam today is like christianity in the dark ages, inquisition, colonisation… but consider geopolitical factors in the last century.

Add some hate speech, some populism, stir some irrational fear, and soon we can have the same type of terrorism but this time coming from decent, white, hardworking people who just want to “protect their family and their freedom”. Hey, it already happens, very small scale… but what if we continue pouring gasoline on this fire? It will be just as those islamists killing their fellow muslims.
