Every Power Has A Downside
The wedding day arrives and an old black car rolls up to my door.
I hop in, “Thanks for the ride Captain Inordinate.”
“Please call me Bob, what should I call you?” he asks, I hesitate so he continues “It can be an alias if you like, it’s just, I probably shouldn’t be calling you mindtwister at the wedding.”
“You can call me Emily.” I tell him.
“Nice to meet you Emily,” He says. He shakes my hand then starts driving.
“So is this a hero wedding?” I ask him.
“No, no, Jason’s a gaming friend, we met online, and it turned out we lived on the same block, so we started hanging out in real life. It’s been, sevenish years since we met.”
“Does he know you’ve got powers?”
“Umm, probably, we’re supposed to keep it a secret, but it’s not always possible, or practical... I probably told him a bit about it, a while back, but I like being normal, or pretending like I’m normal around my normal friends. I mean, not faking that I don’t…
