IoT: opportunities and challenges.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is turning into a multibillion business according to estimations by Bain, Gartner, IDC and several other studies. And a great deal of companies is searching for a way into such a huge market.

However, IoT is a complex world where you have to cope with a lot of elements. It’s not enough to just thinking on a powerful use case for your customers, but you also need tools to build that up. And one important part of that, extremely often underestimated, is dealing with the challenges of data gathering and facing the intrinsic cybersecurity risks involved.

  • How to make sure you offer a suitable framework for your IoT devices that allows your customers to collect the data they want?
  • How to make sure they do this securely?
  • How to make sure you can manage those IoT deployments and support your customers, remotely and easily, throughout the whole lifecycle of the devices?

“It’s the ecosystem, stupid”

IoT is an incredibly big market with so much to be done and so many opportunities. But it’s all about the ecosystem. We believe that a community is essential for launching IoT products successfully. Collaboration between companies, sharing their respective knowledge and efforts yields better business opportunities. Only through Partnerships, companies will succeed.

We, at Barbara IoT, want to smooth the path to those system integrators and service providers that are willing to offer new products and services to their customers. That’s why this week we are launching our new Partnership Program.

Barbara Software is a cross-industry security solution based on a secure Operating System for IoT devices (Barbara OS) and a SaaS remote management dashboard (Barbara Panel). With this toolkit, we want to make it possible for partners to create new business models and build a more complete and profitable portfolio by letting them provide new customized IoT services. We want to be their enablers.

Not only that, but we also want to offer our know-how and technology to create synergies with technology partners. Together we can build smarter vertical solutions for customers in different configurations.

So, if you are reading this and you belong to a company either willing to create and offer your own IoT services or having hardware, software, tools or other technology that matches and complements our product, we want you to join our Partnership Program. Come join us in the IoT revolution!

Together, we can make it possible. That’s what the professional IoT ecosystem stands for.
