The pure simplicity of good health

It appears the secret to good health is very simple but very challenging. Essentially all we need to do is eat simple clean food to avoid the western ‘affluent’ diseases of cancer and hearth disease.

Okay, well if its that easy why is it so tough? Well, unfortunately the current experts believe in pills and procedures and not prevention. Why? They make a fortune from it. It also does not help that most people are brought up in an environment where there is no such thing as enough milk and meat and to be nice to a kid you give them sugar.

So how do I know? Well, I’ve read a lot :-) But I guess you need more than that. Okay, so here goes. I tried being healthy. Instead of controlling weight through exercise I started to improve my diet. I also listened to my body and opened my eyes and tried to cut through all the noise. For example if the world expert on topic X is in front of you and they are saying Y but are 10 stone overweight and look like crap then I think its clear they know zero about health no matter how many qualifications they have.

I now try to mostly eat foods that makes me feel good and limit the food that makes me feel bad. I eat crisps and and feel a bit queasy afterwards. Bad category. I eat an apple and I feel like I haven’t missed a beat. Good category. I eat a large sirloin steak and fall asleep afterwards. Not good, bad category. I eat a salad and feel light. Good Category. I eat chocolate and my mouth feels dry. Bad category. Essentially it means limiting alcohol, processed foods, meat, dairy, sugars, etc and eating as much veg and fruit as you can.

I have kept it simple and I feel great when I am controlled and eat all good food. I feel healthy now and hopefully will be in twenty years time too.

P.s. there is also science behind it like animal protein -> increases hormone IGF-1 -> Cancer and Milk -> high casein -> allows more carcinogen into cells -> more dangerous carcinogen products binding to DNA -> more mutagenic reactions -> Cancer. However for every expert that says ying there’s one that says yang so focus on how you feel. You know your body better than anybody else.

Clean simple food + positive attitude + moderate exercise + sleep — stress => :-)

With the occasional rubbish as I am human and sometimes I need to do something illogical …..
