thanks for the article. It would be great to write more in this area — single travel. I travel some for work, often in foreign countries. Alone. I am fairly outgoing, so I find it fun to pick up conversations with locals. For dining alone: always go to the bar, or the chef’s table or kitchen view if they have one; even at 5 Michelin restaurants. I have become a master of finding full time AirBnB units (unlived in); I prefer these. For orientation, I will sometimes take the Big Red Bus double deck hop on hop off bus and just ride around. Going out late at night is a bit awkward, but I fancy high end cocktail bars and speakeasys; again I usually sit at the bar and talk about the cocktails with the bartender.
