First I thought this was a very informative article, my grandmother told me a story once about this very thing, that when people of color were raped if the child was born of light colored skin they were able to keep the child but if the child was a darker tone the child was to sent away. I can believe that this article is true because I’ve known people in my family who have researched their ancestry and found out some amazing but sad facts, that they did have European in their family maybe more than they liked to know ..so how did this come about.
