Like Dennett, I am also 64. Well 65 in two months. After surviving more than any one human being should be required to, I am (first forcibly, but now gratefully) alone for the last decade. I have died in a coma, and returned with renewed vigor, optimism, and the urgency to publish ALL that I have been writing for the last 45 years. I wear flip flops and capris to the grocery store, follow no societal expectations for either my generation or my diaspora, and am the loudest LGBTQ ally around.
I sense you are writing from a more centered heart space than the questions you raise, but I’m glad to have read this today Lisa Renee. I’ll be waiting around the bend…
