A Pit Bull Saved My Life
Savannah Hughes

Thank you for this Savannah. Pitbulls get such a bad rap and they shouldn’t. They are nanny dogs, loveable goofballs, loyal and amazing. Stories like yours are so appreciated by lovers of dogs, of all breeds.

I’m the guardian of two dogs (not bully breeds, a sheltie girl and an eskie boy). Without a doubt they saved my life in the aftermath of my husband’s sudden death. Their constant company and concern, not to mention their routine, got me out of bed in the mornings. The responsibility of taking care of them made me take care of myself at a time when it would have been so easy to give up. I had to keep myself strong and healthy for them.

18 months later, I’m taking care of myself for me again. I’ll be forever grateful for their presence in my life, during the good times and bad. They are, without a doubt, my best friends.
