Thanks alot for your blog entry! I was thinking about this topic many times already and I totally agree with you: we live in a democratic country with freedom of speech and press, so why is it now different, especially for a satirist?

The problem is that the original poem by Böhmermann is not published in any media anymore, or rather I cannot find it anywhere. I am not even sure if Böhmermann went to far with his poem without having read the whole thing. The media decides what to show us from the poem and therefore tries to influence our opinion on this issue. But that’s the foul-play in a state with the right of freedom of press! We should have the chance of making up our own minds of what we think about Böhmermann’s poem. All in all in my opinion no one should be accused for frankly speaking one’s mind in a democratic country as Germany.
