The Mysterious Death of Mitrice Richardson
Suspicion surrounding the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department grows
Mitrice Lavon Richardson was 24 years old when she disappeared on September 17, 2009 in Calabasas, California. The young woman had recently graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Cal State Fullerton.
At this time of her disappearance, Richardson had recently broken up with her girlfriend Tess, and it was believed that her bi-polar disorder was no longer under control.
On September 17th she drove 40 miles from South Los Angeles to Malibu, California. Family and friends reported receiving uncharacteristic text messages from her and noticed unusual posts to her social media. The evening, she entered the parking lot of Geoffrey’s restaurant, off of the Pacific Coast Highway, at approximately 7 p.m. Malibu, California is roughly 91% white. Richardson, a young Black female, exhibiting strange behavior, stood out to diners and employees of the restaurant. Inside, Mitrice sat down at an occupied table of seven. Witnesses described her behavior as “eccentric,” claiming she was from Mars.
