Hi I”m not sure what exactly constitutes a quiz model but I think assessment through quizzes can be very important. I believe its proven (don’t have the reference sorry!) that more frequent assessment is more effective. So perhaps quizzes every week that are low stakes in grades (allowing for 3 drops or something similar) will prompt students to review material but not overly stress. In my Cognitive Psychology class, I really appreciated the weekly friday quizzes as well as having 5 exams, with one being dropped. This constant assessment kept me on top of my learning and gave me very good feedback. I believe rubrics and goals are also very effective in their own way, I just have positive experience with the consistent assessment through quizzes and tests.
