Rain and Tears

After winter, muddy wetness,

Light licks icicles,

which weep in relief,

Atoms apprenticed to this assumption no more,

They ask, “what are we holding on so tightly for?”

My tears are cousins to these dapper drops,

Dancing off the crystalline matrix,

All flow toward letting go,

Clouds clear during the deluge,

Uncovering the Sun of my heart

Or is it a Moon this time?

Thank Goddess for rain and tears!

How nourishing are these twins to the

seeds of soil and soul…

Brought to my knees by a gaggle of geese,

Their songs, their soaring sheen,

and gazing up at black starlight,

White wisps were the Wild Woman’s hair,

It was then and there,

I watered the Earth for spring.
