This post is beyond ignorant. I enjoyed the video, and the message it sent and guess what, I qualify as caucasian and I know for certainty that my ancestors owned slaves. But why does history and the things that happened before I was born negate my rights and freedom of expression as a person today?

It’s time for us to stop singing along.. celebrates blackness in a way we will never understand. — the entire point of the united states is to be a MELTING POT. To celebrate all cultures and hertages. And to say that I should not sing because of the color of my skin alone, now that sounds like racism to me. I will never claim to be black, but why can’t I celebrate the others successes as well? Why can I not lift up others? and why do I have to be put down in order for others to be lifted up?

if you check the “caucasian” box on a job application, your place is in the bleachers for this dance How many centuries were our black brothers and sisters relegated to the position of audience? — So should we begin sitting in the back of the bus next? Your answer to the wrong doings and injustices that happened YEARS ago is to commit those same wrong doings to the ANCESTORS of the oppressors? and keep in mind that the people who are here today very few were relegated to the audience, infact they are flourishing. I’m not saying hardships don’t exist. But many of the beyonce listeners who are outraged by the white peoples response have never ever expericance the kind of oppression you are speaking about.

Our ancestors signed away that right when they signed their names to contracts that said they owned human beings or signed tabs in restaurants that didn’t allow “colored people. — I suggest you do some slight research on history. The first woman millionaire, was black. MANY black people owned slaves. And in my own personal family history, my ancestors gave the land they owned (what is now downtown houston) to their slaves.

The oppression that once existed was atrocious and no one deserves that. So why are you trying to implement the same opression you claim to be so against on innocent people who have done no wrong?

Instead of harping on issues of the past, why didn’t you address any of the issues of today? Since that is what CAN be changed. and instead of shoving white people aside why don’t we address these issues as a UNITED front. or is that not possible, since white people can’t possibly understand…….
