I’ve always loved reading cookbooks — in fact, I have an entire bookshelf dedicated to them.
It doesn’t matter which cuisine or diet it promotes; there’s always something to learn.
Different cultures and rituals are fascinating. There are always amazing treasures to find — and this egg roll dipping sauce is one of them.
Years back, I’d checked out a Thai cookbook at the library. I had my son copy down the egg roll and dipping sauce recipe on paper before we returned the book. It looked promising.
It was.
We’ve been making it for more than a few decades at this point. I’ve modified and tried it many different ways. Both the sauce and the egg rolls are delicious.
I wish I could give credit to the original author, but I haven’t been able to find the book again. It’s a very flexible sauce and hands down our favorite.
