Forget Comic Sans. Mistral Is the Typeface You Should Love to Hate

Even if it looks so casual, Mistral is one of the most clever metal-types ever designed. 
We should not mistake a type design for its uses, which in this case may be poor or “vernacular” uses.

What’s interesting is that the more a typeface leans towards manuscript writing, the more it reveals national or cultural behaviours who may annoy people who do not share them. So the controversy always turns around Blackletter, Helvetica, Comic and Excoffon.
