Embarking on the Ayahuasca journey may appear daunting to those who have never tried it before. This Amazonian brew holds a mystical power that allows individuals to heal themselves in profound ways, often surpassing conventional beliefs.

Personally, I can attest that taking Ayahuasca was simultaneously the most beautiful and challenging experience of my life. Within its embrace, I experienced both immense pain and boundless love. Ayahuasca, often described as a mother figure, possesses the capacity to test one’s limits in ways unimaginable — physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Mama Ayahuasca guides us towards reconnecting with our true essence, reminding us that we are beings of love, intricately woven into the fabric of nature and the universe. In her presence, the pursuit of money, public acclaim, and ego diminish in significance.

While our personalities typically solidify by our 20s, Ayahuasca offers a positive avenue for transformation. It can help dismantle emotional barriers and recalibrate thought patterns that hinder personal and professional growth.

How Can Ayahuasca Help?

In addition to boosting brain and body health, Ayahuasca can also help with the treatment of serious illness such as depression, post-traumatic stress, anxiety, fear of death, drugs/alcohol consumption, and many more. It’s ideal to tear down emotional barriers and fix thought patterns that are not supporting your personal and/or professional growth.

She will teach you about everything you need and you want. She will help to solve your hurts, she will help you to reconnect with the real you, she will do an ego-dissolution, and she will show you the real world, a world where we are all connected (do you remember of Avatar?), the connection with nature and you will reborn. Alcohols, drugs, money, materialism are the opposite of happiness, it’s the devil where unhappiness pushed us.

The drink makes it possible to let go of the haunting memories and start afresh.

“If you ask a question to your intellect, it will give you 50 answers. If you ask your heart it will give you only one. Trust this one.”

Taking ayahuasca will truly make you feel better and rid your mind of negative thought patterns and unresolved emotions.

But what is exactly ayahuasca?

Ayahuasca is the most ancient — around 40–50 centuries — and the most powerful natural medicine on this planet, made by the mix of two plants (nothing else) from the Amazonian Jungle where you have 80 000 different plants! That’s it.

Containing the potent psychedelic chemical N, N-dimethyltryptamine (DMT), which is a human neurotransmitter. The Ayahuasca vine (Banisteriopsis caapi) is combined with the leaves from the shrub Psychotria Viridis (or other DMT containing plants) to create the tea. Ayahuasca is the name given to the Banisteriopsis caapi vine and also the foul-tasting tea.

The word ‘ayahuasca’ translates to ‘vine of souls’. This powerful medicine induces intense hallucinations and introspection. The entire ayahuasca experience lasts for approximately 8 hours, with the strongest effects lasting 1–3 hours. Vomiting and occasionally diarrhea, which the natives call ‘la purga’ (the purge), are considered part of the experience. This purging process is medically beneficial, as it clears the body of worms and other parasites.

It is important to connect well with Ayahuasca, the same way you would do with another human. You can talk to the plant and explain how you are feeling at the very moment. Keep in mind, when you are having conversations with her, you will be facilitating your own self-healing.

By developing a continued relationship with Ayahuasca, you will soon begin to notice the changes that occurred in your life due to the ceremonial experience. Notably, you will be able to heal naturally and feel better about yourself.

Is it safe to drink Ayahuasca?

Ayahuasca is an entheogenic brew. It can heal your mind and help you learn more about yourself and the world around you. This sacred beverage is safe and does not harm when taken with experienced shamans in a calming, safe ceremonial setting. Some common side effects including vomiting, diarrhea, panic, and paranoia are expected, but these are nothing but the part of the whole ayahuasca journey.

Ayahuasca is not recommended to people with cardiovascular disorders as it can increase the blood pressure and fluctuate heart rate. Also, if you are taking any medication regularly or have any liver, kidney, or serious medical problems, do consult with a physician prior to experience Ayahuasca.

Medications for Parkinson’s disease, antidepressants, cough, weight loss, and psychiatric may interact with Ayahuasca and can bring some serious side effects.

Further, people with personality disorders or mental illnesses such as bipolar, compulsive disorder or schizophrenia, etc. should also avoid Ayahuasca to avoid any potential complications.

It is important to follow the diet before starting your journey to clean your body and your mind.

What happens to you?

My life changed the day after my first journey. I mean the second one because the first one I had no visions just purging. Sometimes no vision appears but you feel the medicine passing through your veins advancing as if it were a snake … it is very special. They say she analyzes your body to heal you.

Since school we have been immersed in competition: go to the best school, be the best student then get the best diploma, the best job… Make more money than your co-workers. Have a role model such as Bill Gates or Elon Musk. Get famous. Following “our” western standards, showing that I was a strong man, traveling and sharing my trips, me, on social media, being a successful entrepreneur, having a nice place to impress others, being surrounded by friends like me, exposing my ego to everyone, watching my numbers of followers growing and spending time showing to others that I’m a great guy, etc. From the outside, it was the “perfect life”.

We are never happy with what we have. We always need more. I used to be this way and now I am grateful for what I have.

Most people need and seek always more money, more power, and more recognition. They always need to be invited to this special circle or event they aren’t yet. There is always better, higher, and more exclusive. There is no end to the hamster wheel.

How about if there was a better reference? How about if the western world got it wrong? The tribes do not have therapists and antidepressant pills. They do not know cancer and Alzheimer. Their elders live until 110. They are the happiest people I have ever met. I am starting to see my new friends with their happiness rather than their success or power.

You can’t know that you’re lost… you can’t because we’re growing up in a world that is showing us that everything we’re running to, is the norm. We have the feeling that it’s never enough. Be beautiful, be strong, be successful, be rich, be cool, drink, eat what we’re telling you to eat, sex, drugs, always more materialism, etc. That’s normal. That feeds our ego, and so in the end, it’s ego against ego. Cool world.

Few years before I heard a very good friend talking about this particular medicine coming from the Amazone that can help you to find the right way for you. As a 100% ego powerful “perfect” guy at this time, I was just thinking to tell him to stop dreaming, to be in the real world, and to go find a job and work!

It was difficult for me to believe in something that they’re saying « one night of this it’s 10 years of therapy ».

But a few years after, I found myself in the best ceremony with one of the greatest shamans I could have. And everything changed. Everything.

What changed after your first experience?

I left my journey as a new person. My vision, my expectation, my ego, my respect for nature changed. I quit social media, I quit many people, I literally changed the vision of the Life I want.

My journey is not over, I did it several times, I have more to work, to discover, and to reset but I’m finally on the good road to love myself peacefully, love humans, and love nature.

I’m working on doing a reset of my DNA that brings all the pain from previous generations to be ready to welcome the future ones.

No one person is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, his background, or his religion. People learn to hate and if they learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than the opposite.

I have a total understanding of when my ego or one of the others is acting. I can feel and see good and bad energy. I much more creative, think in a much better way. My brain and body changed. I’m looking to have less to live better and with myself.

Is it for me?

Have you ever found yourself asking is this really what I want to do in my life? You may be an ideal participant for Ayahuasca if your efforts to make a healthy and peaceful life have failed in the past, but you are still hopeful. The brew can be an ideal solution to find your way to optimal wellbeing and address your issues with energetic alignments.

Don’t do Ayahuasca by curiosity or for fun. This is not a recreational drug at all! Approach ayahuasca and plant medicines with respect. These plants have been on earth for much longer than humans, they hold ancient wisdom about this reality. When we hold them with respect, we position our minds to receive from them rather than demand with expectations.

Ayahuasca is not for anyone. First, because you need a lot of courage to fight against your demon. You need a lot of courage to see the most difficult memories that are inside you (but you probably don’t remember) from the time you born until now that influence and play a role in who you are today and how you react today.

Are you sure it’s not a drug or a sect?

Before trying, I literally thought it was a cult. But in fact, absolutely not. First, let’s start with the drug topic.

The drink is just awful. But horrible. After several ceremonies, the smell alone makes you want to throw up. So there is no pleasure in consuming it. Then there is in the brain, no secretion of dopamine, nor activation of pleasure. And the third point, studying your life is not always a fun time.

About if it’s a cult, the answer is simply no. No, because you are not part of a club/group. You can change Shamans and retreat, pay only for the night of the stay and that’s it. There is no engagement.

What does science say about it?

Have been experiencing my journeys with Ph.D. from Harvard University and Kingston University London that were studying this medicine for the last 5 years. I’m not a science person, so I let you do your own research and suggest you watch the video below.

How is a journey of ayahuasca (best condition, etc)?

Before: Book your stay for a minimum of 2–3 nights in a safety temple for your first time. Try to be in a small group outside a city.

First the diet: The purpose of the ayahuasca diet is to demonstrate one’s willingness to gain Ayahuasca transformation by limiting stimulants and pleasurable foods and activities. A diet plays a crucial part in the ayahuasca process. Fresh and nutritious foods like fruits, vegetables as well as grains like rice, bread, cereals should be preferred. The diet is very strict for the 7 days before the ceremony + No drugs, No alcohol, No sex. The diet will be share from your temple.

Second Intention: Intention setting is being clear about why you want to work with ayahuasca and plant medicines. Why are you coming here? What do you want to solve? They say to drop expectations coming into an Ayahuasca experience. Set your intention beforehand, but once the cup is sipped, let go. Your job is to simply allow the night to unfold as it’s going to unfold. You’re just a passenger, and you soon realize that Mother Ayahuasca is in the driver’s seat.

Third Relaxation: You need to relax. Avoid any social media, any stressful conversation, or time before jumping on an ayahuasca journey.

During Ceremony: Breath, meditate, let the plant coming. She knows what to do and trust your shaman. Across the room, you’ll hear violent vomit from one person, giggles from another, all the while the Shaman sings his Icaros. This is all happening in complete darkness. Angels are here to help you during the ceremony. Ayahuasca gives you what you need, not necessarily what you want.

After: Scientifically proved, the effect of ayahuasca can stay for years in your system. But after a journey, you need to continue working on it or you’ll be back from when you started. The medicine is helping you but you have to do the work and follow the messages.

Another time? After your first journey, you may come away with more confusion than clarity. Take the time, in the following weeks, you will have more clarity. Some people think that one journey is enough, I personally not agree. You will feel if you need more or not.

Everyone’s experience will be different and each ceremony is a new experience. Sometimes nothing happens, and the other night you will have a powerful experience. Just trust medicine.

It’s not just Ayahuasca that makes the experience. It’s Ayahuasca, alongside your peers, your facilitators, your Shaman, and being in the heart of good energies.

“Blessed is he who expects nothing, for he shall never be disappointed.” — Alexander Pope

Much love to you.

I’m just sharing my experience and you should do your own research before jumping on an Ayahuasca journey and consult a Doctor for approval.

Do not hesitate to contact me if you want to discuss it. I have the chance to know wonderful Shamans and safe places. Maybe we could share a journey!
