I think evil at the core comes from the notion that when straying we lose an umbilical cord to sanity, to food which enriches. And at some point a virus is so far spread in the system that our thinking and hearts can no longer be trusted, not that we were evil from the start, and have no amazing spark of greatness and nobility inside us.
Recently I’ve been given reason to think about Christ’s calling people “lost.”
