A year into Eating Disorder recovery, I traveled abroad alone. I couldn’t imagine anything worse than being alone, a 12 hour time difference from home, and being up to my eyeballs in triggering scenarios without support. I heavily talked through my worries and potential exposures with my therapist. I was terrified, yet determined, to enjoy my trip without my Eating Disorder getting in the way.
