Allowing you to schedule your doctor’s appointment at ease
Brief of Time
Our goal is to make communication between a patient and their doctor’s office faster and easier as opposed to waiting on the line to refill a prescription or to schedule an appointment on the phone. DocKonnect App designed for Zero Family Practice and the users are patients of the same practice. The Practice end goal is to eventually have their receptionist / secretary spend less and less hours answering incoming phone calls and allow her time to attend other duties.
Ideation
After a visit with a family doctor, she adviced to call her back after a week to let her know how I felt with a newly given prescription. A week came by quickly still not feeling the greatest, I picked up my phone ready to give my doctor a week’s report only to get a busy signal, several minutes went by and I called again, this time someone picked up the phone on the other end, said hello and asked if I could please hold ..
I reluctantly agreed… even though I had been put on hold in the past (for nearly 15 minutes) while just wanting to request a prescription, here I was again ON HOLD! Yes 10 minutes did go by . . only to be asked if I could leave a message as my doctor had just left the office for the day. I hang up the phone feeling frustrated, what a waste of time!! Thankfully my frustration became my design fuel. The App DocKonnect was born.

User Testing the Prototypes
DocKonnect App benefits both the Doctor’s office and their patients. Since the introduction of the DocKonnect to Zero Family Practice, the patients are happy to be able to make appointments in much less time. Patients are able to refill their prescription by requesting it from their doctor or by auto-refilling. If any question, users can now message their doctor directly on the DocKonnect App without making a single call. The receptionist at the practice has enjoyed not spending too much time answering incoming calls and has time to attend her other office duties.
