I have put together a collection of the best platforms to browse through when you are looking for fresh ideas or perhaps you want to share your own creative work with the world on these platforms.

Awwwards has some of the most cutting edge and up to date website designs on the internet. This platform is great to reference when you need inspiration on something different that breaks the mould in terms of design and development. Awwwards doesn't feature your run of the mill cookie cutter websites.

Behance

Behance is a well known platform in the creative industry. Some people choose to have a Behance portfolio over a traditional website and its integration with Adobe creative suite makes that a breeze. Behance is a great place to check out high quality design work form around the world. You can save projects and follow creatives you like to keep up to date with work and design trends.

Designmodo provides articles, tutorials and industry news about trends and techniques. Dribbble

A famous design platform, Dribbble has become the go to website for design inspiration and my personal favourite. You can post your own design work if you are lucky enough to get an invite from someone already on the network. Some of the best designers in the world are on Dribbble and it is a plethora of inspiration for creatives of all types. Some of the great features are:

  • Bucketing shots into your own topics
  • Commenting and discussing on work
  • Seeing the colour palettes used on the work
  • Jobs search

Land-book

Land-book is a place created for Designers, Developers, Product Owners, Marketing Managers, Startupers, Freelancers and, really, for everyone who appreciates fine designs and well-crafted sites. Land-book wants to inspire and support you in the process of creating your own unique website projects.

Little Big Details

Little Big Details is a curated collection of the finer details of design, updated every day. It is a great place to find inspiration from all the small things that really do matter in interaction design. As Little Big Details quotes from Charles & Ray Eames

Material Design

Material Design by Google is not directly a reference website but it is a great resource for designers to use with many useful tools such as:

  • Gallery aka Googles version of Zeplin/InVision inspect
  • Custom colour palette generator
  • System icons library
  • Design examples and case studies
  • Tutorials

Medium

Medium is good for more than just writing your own articles 😁. It is indeed a rich source of all types of design inspiration, tutorials and design workplace stories. All you need to do is start searching for topics that you like such as UI design or Product Design and you will find a plethora of inspiration at your finger tips. You can read as much as you want and also bookmark to come back to the stories later.

Mobbin

Mobbin is a hand-picked collection of the latest mobile design patterns from apps that reflect the best in design. Get inspiration from over 100 iOS apps and 5,000 patterns (screenshots from iPhone X) available on the platform.

Muzli

This website by InVision features high quality work by designers from all over the word. Mining leading web sources like Dribbble, Mashable, and Techcrunch, Muzli combines automated curation with human discovery, to uncover the best design inspiration and news that you won’t find with a web search. They also have a plugin for Chrome and Safari to bring the latest designs to you directly.

Nicely Done

This useful website shows you screenshots of the most up to date digital websites on the web right now. You can use it to figure out patterns and ways to design new features for your current project plus many more things. The simple design and layout makes it intuitive to use and it is a very handy tool for a UX, UI, product designer to have on hand.

Page Flows

User flow videos & screenshots to inspire you when you’re stuck

And this website does just that. With a growing library of free user flow videos and screen shots Page Flows is a useful reference tool. You can also upgrade your account if you want to have access to even more websites and apps screen captures.

Pages

This well presented websites demonstrates the best web designs broken down into sections called pages. The pages sort by pricing, product, landing and app. Quickly and easily find inspiration for your next great design project.

Panda

Not a website Panda is an amazing plugin for Chrome and Safari.It is a design news aggregator and you can load up your plugin dashboard with various custom text and image feeds to feast your eyes on everytime you open a new tab. Once you set Panda up you will always be up to date on the latest in design news and trends. Personally I use Dribbble on the image tile panel and Designer news on the news feed.

Pinterest

Although Pinterest isn’t specifically for UI or UX design the huge community has some many designers in it who create case studies and collect images and create their own awesome boards. You never know what you might come across on Pinterest its always worth a look when searching for inspiration.

Pttrns

Featuring screen shots of iOS and Android apps. Pttrns is a great reference tool. It lists apps via features and tags that make it easy to find specific things. It’s history listings are nice to see the trends of how design has changed over the last few years. A good tool to keep on hand.

Site inspire

A simple well designed platform Site inspire showcases an excellent selection of websites and interactive designs. When you click into an image it links you into the live website which is a handy addition. Site inspire features a directory of the design agencies that are showcasing work should you need to contact them.

The Best Designs is curated collection of the best of web design and designers, featured for design excellence. Millions of people from around the world visit The Best Designs to view the latest design trends, designers to hire or design inspiration.

The FWA

FWA is where you go to experience cutting-edge innovation in digital design and development. It’s a space that encourages the digital industry to push the boundaries of technology, to show people what is possible.They have an international team of over 200 judges (100+ men and 100+ women), who vote daily on submitted projects.

UI Jar

Ui Jar features handpicked by designers for designers content from around the web. This is primarily for UI web and mobile designers. They have a nice section of curated collections that let you search for what you specifically want to see.

Uplabs

Uplabs is the leading community of creatives, offering the best digital inspiration and downloads, every day. It also offers some good features like a design challenge section and a jobs board just incase you need a change.
