We love Seattle and it looks like the feeling might be mutual. JUMP recently hit 1 million rides in the Emerald City, so we wanted to say a huge thank you to all our Seattle riders for choosing us for your commute, your crosstown ride, or your spin around the neighborhood. We appreciate the support and that so many people have made JUMP a part of how they get around the city.

For the one lucky rider who gave us our 1 millionth trip, here’s what we’re giving them:

  • Six months worth of free JUMP trips, good for 60-minutes per day
  • A visit to JUMP’s warehouse for a behind the scenes look at how we keep our bikes on the road, with lunch on us, and a bike ride around the neighborhood
  • JUMP swag: sunglasses, t-shirt, and a jacket

To reach a million rides in less than a year is a huge milestone. We’ve grown our fleet to almost 4,000 bikes to serve the riding needs of Seattleites like you, evolving and innovating to introduce new vehicle models during that time.

We have an amazing team working around the clock to handle field operations, safety and maintenance, and feedback from our riders. That commitment along with our partners at Seattle’s Department of Transportation is what keeps us thriving. In our daily operations, we have continued to focus our efforts on broad availability and equitable distribution of bikes throughout the system. We’re also continually working to educate riders about how and where to leave their bikes when they end a trip.

Those 1 million trips are so much more than people getting from A to B. JUMP is changing the way we move through cities, for the better. Choosing to commute by bike instead of by car helps to reduce carbon emissions, meaning JUMP is working to make Seattle greener and cleaner. JUMP is also opening up cost-efficient avenues of travel — riding a JUMP bike can be quite a bit less expensive than running a car.

We’re also constantly working to engage new riders. For our growing college population, we’re working with the University of Washington to make bikes available to students, staff, and faculty. And for qualifying low-income riders, we offer a $5 per month plan.

We’re not stopping there either. With potential expansions on the horizon and the possibility of even more vehicle type choices, we’re really just getting started. Be sure to keep checking our city page for further developments.

See you in the bicycle lanes. Ding ding!
