SingTel Fibre TOTOLINK A3002RU

A cheap alternative to the AC Elite

TOTOLINK A3002RU

Here is the link to the router which I purchased off AliExpress:

I would typically connect directly to LAN 1 with a RJ45 Cat 6 cable to access the router before doing anything else. I also had my WAN port connected to my ONT LAN 1 port. I will set my IPV4 settings for my laptop’s wired connection to this:

NIC Properties

Now you’re ready to setup the router. Go to your browser and enter: 192.168.1.1

Login Page (default: 192.168.1.1)

You should see the login page. Login with the default username and password, which should be “admin” for both.

Easy Setup Wizard

Then it’s time to setup. You should see the page above for the Easy Setup Wizard. Here are the settings:

IPTV Settings for SingTel Fibre

IPTV TAG must be unchecked. IPTV VID is 20 and Internet VID is 10 for SingTel fibre. I chose to route the IPTV to LAN 4, which I can connect my MioTV to.

Once you’re done, click apply and the router will setup. While waiting for it to obtain the WAN IP, be sure to set your wired NIC back to obtain address automatically. And you’re done!

Just to make sure everything is in place, you can see your VLAN settings here:

Network > VLAN Settings

Note that IPTV Tag is unchecked, VID = 20, priority = 4 and LAN 4 (or any port of choice for your MioTV).

I haven’t tested any routing speeds but it does the basic job of replacing the hardly effective AC Elite. Some bonuses are AC1200, with multiple SSIDs and a USB port to share a HDD like a NAS. It can double up as a Wireless repeater in the future if it fails to meet your router requirements.

Cheers!
