Still Pressed — PR info overload!

37 days before launch…

I have every reason to believe that I am silently panicking my way through getting PR for LiverTracker’s launch.

On the other hand, I’ve read that journalists should be contacted a week before the launch. That way, it’s not too late that they won’t have the time to write your story, and not too early that they’ll forget about you.

But I’m getting stuck at this point. I’m tempted to do the first few contacts because I’ve also read from another source that connections and getting your story pitched needs relationship-building.

Although I understand the logic behind those two perspective — and I’m not even saying that they are conflicting — I am anxiously stressed out how to apply both in LiverTracker’s current state right now.

After reading Groove’s CEO article last Friday, it was a good read, but I also came across a very helpful but challenging comment by Josh Steimle — which lead me to click on the link he provided. I got goosebumps reading it… Wanna check it out? here it is, “Why Can’t I get Any Good PR For My Startup?”

So yeah, I think I should take the info loading slowly, and work on the preps faster. There’s a downside as much as having advantages on knowing too much (or perhaps finding out too much) on what to do about certain things — in my case PR.

I’m calling it a day — I have my hitlist ready, my media kit ready, my demo log-ins… but still so many things to prep before doing the first contact. Soooo fingerscrossed, I hope to accomplish much this week and get rid of this confusion, which makes my head mess up a little — I wonder when will I be able to stop using the word “pressed”. :D
