The capital city of Victoria state of Australia, Melbourne is dedicated to skyscrapers and urban lifestyle. It is also the second most populous city in Australia. Situated near the Yarra river, Melbourne's multicultural environment is a magnet for large number of tourists.

1. FEDERATION SQUARE

Federation Square architecture

Federation Square is the central public space in Melbourne which attracts every visitor in the town. Its architecture is what pulls people towards it. The main market is paved with square sandstones which are equally neat as the architecture. From shopping complex and plazas to cafés and clubs, the Sqaure offers much more. Australian Centre for the Moving Image has two cinemas. ACMI's glazing glasses architecture too is one of its kind. A theatre, The Edge is 450-seat spaced designed to adore views of the Yarra River. There is a lot more even to discover, to explore and to adore.

2. NATIONAL GALLERY OF VICTORIA

Also short pronounced as The NGV, National Gallery of Victoria is the oldest and the largest art museum in Australia. Located in the Southbank area of Melbourne, The gallery displays one of the bestest artworks from around the world. From Australian to International collections, the museum has a lot of pacific arts, contemporary arts, sculptures, egyptian arts and more from the world's notable artists. The Great Hall of the NGV has the world's largest stained colourful ceiling. With its wide range of artworks and halls, this museum is also the most visited places in Melbourne.

3. CROWN MELBOURNE

Crown Melbourne is a resort, complex and casino situated on the banks of Yarra River. The complex area offers various top brands. The Casino's central space known as the 'Atrium' is famous too. Its main features include the stepped fountains and light/sound shows. The Palladium at Crown is a Ballroom with a seating capacity of 2200. Many award functions and television functions are held here. There are a lot of Hotels too in the Crown area.

4. QUEEN VICTORIA MARKET

Queen Victoria Market is a popular landmark in Melbourne. It is not named after Queen Victoria, but due its location near Victoria streets. It is a total shopper's paradise. From vegetables to jewellery, you can find everything in this market. The market is also known for its Hot Doughnut Van of which doughnuts are a must have. A famous buttermilk dessert with ginger cake crumbs too is a treat to eat here. Also on Wednesday evenings in Summers, there is a night market for entertainment and fun.

5. LUNA PARK

Luna Park is situated at the shore of Port Phillip Bay in St. Kilda. It is a fun amusement park with lots of thrilling rides and games. It is much popular among youth and kids. Every ride of this park is a worth try. The entry gate too is very fascinating. The most famous rides include the Scenic Railway, Roller coasters, Twin Dragon, The Ghost train, Magical Caraousel and more. One can never get bored while roaming and riding here. There are cafés to relax and eat. Visiting this park is a good way to enjoy when in Melbourne.
