Applies programming procedures and knowledge of operational processes to analyze needs, design, write and test new programs and applications. The applications developed and maintained are typically highly interconnected systems requiring thorough research and mitigation of cascading errors. Maintains and updates existing systems and provides technical assistance associated with those systems. Shows creativity and good judgment in devising program logic. Efficiently selects and adapts standard programming procedures and best practices; Works closely with Manager and Customer to organize and effectively execute projects.
General Duties
- Develops, interfaces, modifies, and maintains complex SQL Server, Oracle, and mainframe database systems.
- Works as primary principal on special projects requiring intensive research, R&D, and rapid prototyping.
- Carries out fact-finding and program analysis of problems; determines most appropriate procedures to resolve.
- Provides technical advice and support to users. This includes creating ad-hoc reports, data analysis and correction, training and problem solving associated with supported system deployments.
- Successfully maintains project deadlines, status reports, and communication.
- Researches and advises on myriad technical processes & systems.
- Acts as a culture and brand ambassador with clients, coworkers, and partners.
- Acts as a technical champion to business process improvement. Uses creativity and consensus building to capture business needs in a way that they can be actioned by technical teams.
- Assists in project management, process improvement, and process related documentation.
Requirements
- 3 or more years of proven success with Enterprise SQL development & optimization.
- Ability to pass pre-employment background investigation, including credit check and drug test.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Office of Security and Investigations (OSI) background check/security clearance — full field background check required for personnel accessing IBIS, TECS, DACS.
- U.S. citizenship.
