Sir_G00DB0Y here with my first article for the JYD Pack and we are starting off explosively with a crafting update!
You might have seen that our Developer Dogs have been hard at work and there are now shiny and exciting new options at https://junkyarddogs.io with the introduction of the Furnace and Merchant. ( Giving our site a revamp as well so keep your eyes peeled for a big site update soon!)
We had some early issues with Opensea and using Matic to deploy our scrap to save you guys and gals from those pesky Gas Fees! (Matic not showing in your Wallet Check out this guide to bridging from the Ethereum network to Polygon) but that should all be resolved now, and you can resume forging.
TAILS OF DOG LORE!
Billowing smoke rises above the Junkyard and the sound of rusted cog’s slowly beginning to turn again after centuries of sitting in silence, metal on metal clashing loudly as a rhythmic THUMP THUMP THUMP picks up pace. The smell of rust, oil and stale grease permeates the air as the ancient furnace roars back into life.
But what has awoken the Furnace after its long slumber? Red lights begin to shine one after another, picking up pace and pulsating faster, shining more brilliantly as the dogs with Cyborg eyes start moving with unknown purpose and precision. Gathering scrap and forging technological marvels long thought to be lost.
In the distance, a mysterious figure in a green hood known as the merchant approaches carrying exotic sprays, blueprints and mysterious boxes carrying the rarest of Junk. Who is this mysterious dog why has he appeared now?
All we know is that this is a sign that something is coming but what will the Junkyard dogs forge ? and what does this mean for the Junkyard ? only time will tell.

How it all works!
I hope you are all as excited as me to get crafting! The leaders of the JYD pack thought that it would be good to give you all a guide to everything Merchant and Furnace related as well as some of the future ambitions we have for scrap, blueprints and sprays
Blueprints
These are the missing piece of the build that will let the user decide what exactly they are going to construct. The first series of blueprints allow users to refine and combine the different pieces of the K-9000. As the collection expands, new Blueprints will be discovered. We are constantly working on future releases to give members the freedom to choose what they want to craft in the furnace.
Scrap what is it? How do I get it?
Scrap is a commodity found all across the Junkyard when you collect enough of these components you are able to combine different tiers of scrap and blueprints and combine them with sprays to create the parts needed to create your own K-9000 these will be limited in number, but we will also be expanding with more craftables coming very soon. We can’t wait to see who will be able to forge the rarest of all K-9000’s, the all-Pearlescent only heard about in legend!
There are 4 ways currently to get your scrap.
· The Airdrop: Once a week if your dog is delisted you will receive one piece of Level 1 Scrap per dog
· You will also get 1 per bone NFT or 3x per golden bone NFT that you hold! https://opensea.io/collection/junkyardbones
· The secondary market on Opensea https://opensea.io/collection/junkyard-scraps ( watch out for scams!)
· The merchant will appear once a week on Scrapperday (Follow our Social channels and join Discord to find out when that is each week!). They will offer a blind box drop of scraps, these are highly limited only 2000 can be minted at a price of 0.008 with varying rarities.
· 60% Level 1 Scrap
· 30% level 2 Scrap
· 10% Level 3 Scrap
Our thoughts behind scrap is that we wanted to incentivize and reward our loyal dog holders, you will get the opportunity to build out our limited set of K-9000’s and later other cool expansions (think sandbox dogs!) such as cars, bots, etc and we would love your input so hop into our discord and let us know what you want to see!
As well as providing a passive reward system that isn’t a cryptocurrency to our users, if we sell out our full weekly allocation this will raise operating funds that will allow JYD to build awesome new experiences and grow the team!
This regular source of scrap will be a big boost in utility to all Junkyard Dog’s and only makes the community stronger and more fun to be a part of.
Spray Cans
Junkyard Dog’s are nothing if not stylish and our spray’s let you colour your scrap creations but be aware some of the sprays are rarer than others! Using the awesome powers of the Furnace or by bartering with the merchant you can secure these awesome colours.
· 2x SCRAP = Silver
· 3x Scrap = Bronze
· 4x Scrap = Sapphire Blue
· 6x Scrap = Emerald Green
· 8x Scrap = Black
· 15x Scrap = Gold
· 30x Scrap = Pearlescent
The prices above are based on Level 1 Scrap but if you were to use Level 2 scrap, the exchange rate would be honoured i.e. 1x Level 2 is worth 4 x Level 1 scrap.
Scrap & the Furnace!
So you have some scrap, what next? Well, you will need to refine them so you can build your K-9000 pieces. Once you collect all 5, you will be able to forge a Full K-9000 or you can hoard your precious scrap and wait for some of our future blueprints to land and build items for the Sandbox!
The known pairings right now are,
4 x Level 1 Scrap = 1 Level 2 Scrap
4 x Level 2 Scrap = Level 3 Scrap
4 x Level 3 Scrap + 1 Blueprint = 1 K-9000 Piece
6 x K-9000 pieces = K-9000
The Furnace and Merchant have only just arrived. Even more, will be revealed in the coming weeks and months, until then we wish every dog luck in collecting this rare collectable and challenge the community to show us your progress. The first Dogs to mint K-9000’s, particularly rare ones, will be in line for very special treats!
