Who is Jupie Wilder?

Hello, I am a newbie on Medium. I live in Hawaii (which I will certainly write about, as it has been a novel experience, to say the least).

I have a supportive, loving husband, two stepdaughters (both adults), and no pets, except for the numerous geckos on our lanai (yes, they all have names and personalities). Don’t get me wrong; I love pets. However, after losing five pets in two years (due to old age and moving to Hawaii), I need a break.

I seriously had doubts about posting my writings for many reasons.

I’m an Introvert

Yes. I know, right? A writer who is an introvert! Who would have guessed? But seriously, we introverts find it hard to open up to others, especially strangers (you peeps). Yet, I forced myself into a middle-ground — half introvert and half extrovert. Most people that I know would never believe that I would rather be home alone writing, watching great movies, painting, working on landscaping (a never-ending project), and of course, going to the beach. Oh, and I’m a Mai Tai enthusiast! Yum yum, bubble gum.

Will People Like My Work?

I wasn’t sure people would enjoy my work. But, I’m over that now — way over it. I don’t care if people don’t like my work. I write for me. I write for fun, even if it is a difficult topic. Consider it therapy.

• Business Owner (sold it, thank the heavens — way too much work)
• IT Project Manager (AKA: I can manage a crapload of smart people)
• Consultant (IT and Business, boring, right?)
• Computer Programmer (old school mainframes — that kind of dates me, doesn’t it?)
• Distribution Analyst (don’t ask)
• Dog Groomer (a past life, but interesting)
• Waitress (my first real job and hardest job)

Young Adult Fantasy & Sci-Fi

I love, love fantasy and sci-fi — a kid at heart, I guess. Using my imagination is so much fun — I get to escape into worlds and characters unknown. Then, as I continue writing I build my relationships with the characters and hike around the worlds I build.

Totally awesome!

I finished my first manuscript Truth in Color — The Mahvarri Chronicles. The first edits are complete and now I am getting beta readers. Soon I will be searching for an agent.

Hopefully, the agents say, “What a brilliant writer and story. I must be Jupie’s publisher.” Isn’t that what all writers want?

I am looking forward to sharing some details with you all.
