Meet our advisor, Arun Sundararajan!

In 2011, Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business’s (CKGSB) Alumni collectively managed above $1 trillion in revenues, equal to 13.7% of the Chinese GDP and have been actively involved in transforming the landscape of the Chinese industry. In 2018, Jura got the opportunity to present its project and met Arun Sundararajan at the CKGSB event for the first time. He showed a keen interest in Jura’s technology and after diligently evaluating Jura’s core technology, mission and team, Arun agreed to sit on Jura’s advisory board.

Along with Jura, he is also an advisor to organizations that include the City of New York, the City of Seoul, the Female Founders Fund, the Internet Society of China, OuiShare, Samasource, the National League of Cities, and the Center for Global Enterprise.

Arun Sundararajan is a tenured professor and Robert L. an Dale Atkins Rosen Faculty Fellow at New York University’s Stern School fo Business. He is also an affiliated faculty member at NYU’s Center for Data Science. His work focuses on how digital technologies transform the business, governmnet & civil societies. His main focus has been on the sharing economy, future of work, platform governance, artificial intelligence, digital transformation of retail, and digital trust.

On these topics, Arun has published over 50 peer-reviewed scientific papers and over 35 op-eds. Moreover, he has been invited by numerous conferences globally to deliver the keynote speeches and discuss these topics alongside other thought leaders.

Arun also won the 2017 Axiom Best Business Books Award for his best-selling book, “The Sharing Economy” published by the MIT press. His book was later translated into five different languages.

Arun is a proud member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Technology, Values and Policy and is also the 2016 Thinkers50 Radar Thinker. He occasionally invests his own money in promising startups and helps them figure out strategy, regulation and address changes induced by digital technologies.
