Theater

Theater is defined as “a collaborative form of performing art that uses live performers.” Nowadays there are two views on this subject: many people go to the theater on a regular basis, but to some people it is a useless pastime. Personally, I love going to the theater, but I do it very rarely — one-two times a year, when somebody offers me an extra ticket or my group mates decide to go there together :) A month ago there was such an occasion and some girls of my group, some our teachers and I went to the theater. We watched ‘Бабий бунт’ and I can say that I REALLY loved it! It was hilarious! I advise everyone to watch this musical performance, because it’s very funny and you have something to think over at the same time. So, I enjoyed my last going to the theater very much, but still I can’t say that I disliked any play that I’ve watched, because each time at the end of a play I feel something magical that makes me feel a bit happier. I am always sympathetic to the actors, I share their feelings and their stories seem to me true to life.

I don’t think I have a favorite genre, because I haven’t watched all of them and I don’t have a full picture, but I like musicals, dramas and comedies for sure. I believe each kind of genre is worth seeing, because it will bring you new emotions. By the way, I want to watch a monodrama (a drama work performed by one actor) one day. I’m not sure that I’ll like, but it will definitely be an interesting experience.

I agree with the phrase that the theater has its magic. It really does. But I’m afraid that if I go to the theater often, I will stop feeling such bright emotions and it won’t be such a pleasure for me anymore. For example, I don’t have the same feelings after watching a movie in the cinema, one of the reasons for this is that I go to the movies much more often than to the theater, that’s why I believe that one-two times a year are enough for me. Besides, each going to the theater will remain very memorable for me.
